What does it cost to sell with Fananeen?

We have absolutely no upfront fees. List art with us and when the artwork sells, we charge a seller’s commission as a percentage of the sale price. The commission is determined based on the total value of works that you sell with us.


What happens once I submit my Artwork for sale to the Fananeen Team?

Based on our proprietary market data, we will let you know within 72 hours whether your artwork has sufficient demand within the secondary market.

If demand is sufficient, your work will be approved and you will be contacted to provide further details to help in listing your artwork on our site.


How is selling with Fananen different from consigning with a traditional auction house?

Unlike a consignment with traditional auction houses, Fananeen does not require any upfront costs of shipping, insurance, or marketing. This means no upfront fees for you. When it sells, you ship, and you get paid!


How long does it take to sell art with Fananeen?

This all depends on the demand for your art. We put it on our website and put it in the eyes of buyers around the World.


I am an artist. Can I sell my art with Fananeen?

Whether you are an artist or an art collector, if your artwork has sufficient demand within the secondary market, Faneneen is here to help you sell your art.


Can I edit my submission?

To edit your existing submissions or add further details, please contact info@fananeen.com with the subject line “Edit my submission” and one of our team members will assist you. In the body of your email, please include the artwork name and any other relevant details.

How can I buy from the Fananeen Website?

  1. Buy it Now: Many of the works can be bought with the click of a button via Buy it Now, Fananeen’s Easy-to-Use and Secure Checkout System. Once you complete checkout, we will confirm your order within 72 hours.

  2. Contact Us: For the works that contain a ‘Contact Us’ Form, fill the Contact Form below the description to inquire about pricing and availability.

  3. Find It For Me: For the ‘Find It For Me’ option, visit out ‘Find It For Me’ page and fill in the details for us to find your requested piece of Art. A member of our team will then get back to you within 72 hours with pricing, availability, and shipping details.

How much is Shipping?

Because our buyers, sellers, and the locations of our Partner galleries are in various locations around the World, Shipping is calculated differently for each piece. But don’t worry, we always use the Safest Option to ensure Safe delivery.


Fananeen does not ship to my country, what should I do?

Fananeen tries to ship Worldwide, however, some countries are not supported by our payment or shipping options, as such, we are limited by our payment and shipping vendors.


Can I pick up my piece in person?

We do not have a physical location. However, if both buyer and seller or gallery and seller are in the same location, we could make it work!


Can I return a work?

Returns of original pieces are limited to the return policies of each seller and/or gallery. Please contact us for specific return policies when purchasing art.


Where can I check the status of my order?

You will receive an email from info@fananeen.com whenever there is an update to your order. The shipping confirmation email will include tracking information so that you may follow along with your shipment.


Purchasing through Escrow.com.

Fananeen has partnered with Escrow.com to provide a secure option for collectors and galleries to transact safely outside of Fananeen’s platform. By holding funds until the artwork has been exchanged and inspected, Escrow.com shields buyers from the risk of paying for goods not received and protects sellers from the risk of charge-backs.

For users purchasing high-value pieces through inquiries on Fananeen, we recommend this method of transacting to help protect you from gallery impersonation outside of Fananeen.

Note: Payment through Escrow.com is completely optional; however, it is highly recommended as a safer way to send and receive payment. Fananeen does not take commission or fees from the buyer or seller for Escrow.com payments; however Escrow.com fees may apply.

How Escrow.com works

When Fananeen responds to your inquiry, you will be given the option at purchase to initiate the purchase by clicking a link through to Escrow.com. This will start the process:

  1. Create an Escrow.com account. Click here to create an account with Escrow.com.

  2. Ask us if we accept payment through Escrow.com on a piece. Once we agree on the payment method, we ask for the gallery’s email address, or the email address associated with their existing Escrow.com account. If the gallery does not already have an Escrow.com account, they will need to create one and we will supply it to you.

  3. You and the gallery agree to terms. Either you or the gallery may start a transaction. Both parties must create or log in to an Escrow.com account and agree to the terms of the transaction.

  4. You pay Escrow.com. Submit payment and then Escrow.com will verify it. The gallery will then be notified that the funds have been secured “In Escrow.”

  5. The gallery ships the artwork. Once the payment is verified, you’ll be authorized to send the artwork and submit tracking information. Escrow.com will then verify that the collector has received the artwork.

  6. You accept the artwork. After receiving the artwork, you will have a set number of days to inspect the artwork and to accept or reject it (This stage differs from gallery to gallery).

  7. Escrow.com pays the gallery. Once the artwork is received/accepted by you, Escrow.com will release the funds to the gallery.

How can I make sure that a artwork is real and authentic?

We pride ourselves on the quality of our partners, and every seller is required to accurately list works on Fananeen. That said, you should always feel empowered to ask for documentation related to an artwork’s authenticity, provenance, condition, etc.

Each artist or estate has a different process for authenticating artworks. For example, some studios only provide formal certificates for works that are unsigned or above a certain price, while other studios provide a certificate for all purchases.

We recommend asking about the artist’s standard procedure. This might include certificates of authenticity, documentation from an artist’s studio or estate, or simply an invoice from the gallery that represents the artist’s work.

Works with certificates of authenticity included will have this listed in their description and certificates of authenticities will be shipped with the piece.


Can I trust sellers on Fananeen?

We pride ourselves on the quality of our partners, and we thoroughly vet sellers when they sell on our website. That said, we recommend taking standard safety precautions - for example, confirming payment methods using a seller’s publicly listed phone number, and never sending private information via email.
